1. Where do I start?
Most people will start the process of getting a website designed by doing lots of research on their own. You will surely talk to a number of firms; compare their price lists and check their referrals before you zero in on 2-3 firms. When you have finally reached a point where you have short listed 2-3 web design forms, you should put forward your requirements clearly, such as the purpose that your website will serve, your participation in the process of the creation of your website, the final budget that you have envisaged for the website, whether the firm will also provide copywriting services and so on.
To the web design firm that you have zeroed in on, you should put forward questions on its experience, clients, development process, follow up support, maintenance package, content management, and so on. Be sure to check the portfolio that these firms have on their website. Once you select a firm, discuss your requirements in detail with them. You will, in all probability, be assigned a project manager by the web design firm to refer all your queries to. In due time, you will be presented with sample designs which will be refined till you approve a final design.
2. How much will your services cost?
The final cost of the website depends on many factors. It is difficult to give an offhand estimate of the website without knowing the detailed requirements of the project. The final cost of the website is dependent on many elements such as the strategic planning and development involved, web design, graphic design, database development, multimedia, interactive features, SEO, web maintainence. I will be able to give you the definitive cost involved after you have given me a detail of your requirements. Please feel free to contact me for free quotation.
3. How long will it take for you to finish my project?
That again, is dependent on my factors. There is a lot to be done and there are so many ways of doing it. It may take as short as a day or as long as two months to finish a project, depending on your needs, the size of your website, the complexity of your site design and my priorities at the given time. I will be able to give you a rough idea of the time involved once all the other details have been sorted out. Even though unforeseen delays due to vacation, priority shifts, delay in receiving text or images from the client and changes in scope are part of the process, every effort will be made to see that your work does not suffer unduly because of them.
4. Will the fact that you will be working from a distance have any impact on the work?
A look at my portfolio will convince you on that point. Almost all my clients are situated far away from me and I have managed quite well in developing websites for them. In fact, I have estabished processes and systems that have enabled me to communicate and collaborate effectively with my clients. In fact, I communicate so often with my clients, that I never realize that we are sepearted by thousands of miles. I keep my clients abreast of all the processes involved in the development of the website from the start to the finish. You can keep in contact with me over phone, email or chat (MSN Messenger, or Yahoo) or even all of them.
5. I have an existing website but I am not satisfied with it? Can you help?
Absolutely! Almost every business has a website now, but unfortunately most of them are not satisfied with their websites. The reason is that they never paid attention to the parameters involved in building an effective online presence. Things have really changed in the last few years and everyone now wants a contemporary website that brings in traffic. When you approach me for a redesign, I will have a look at your old website and see what I can salvage from the old website and what I can add to it to give it a completely new look. Redesigning usually involves all the work that is needed in building a new website such as website consultation, ecommerce design, graphic design, SEO, site maintenance etc..
6. Do I need to send a deposit for the work?
I charge 40% deposit from new customers, and the rest after the entire process is completed. If you require my services again after that, you won’t have to pay any deposit.
7. Will I be involved in the development of the site design?
It is your website and my primary motive is-your satisfaction. I will accommodate all your ideas, as long that is practically possible. A frank discussion of all details will surely help me a lot in the process and help us build a healthy relationship. The key to a professional relationship lies in the fact that you trust me completely. I always try my best to give my clients what they want.
